GoldenVistaCabin For Ministry Leaders

GoldenVistaCabin is more than a vacation rental. It’s a quiet mountain-view refuge in the North Georgia mountains—offered with joy and purpose to Christian leaders who pour themselves out in service to others.

My wife and I have spent more than two decades in ministry. We’ve seen firsthand how easy it is for pastors, missionaries, and nonprofit ministry leaders to grow tired.

“Come away… and rest a while.”

Mark 6:31

GoldenVista was born from that burden—designed to be a place where ministry individuals, couples, and families can simply stop, breathe, and let God restore what constant giving has worn thin.

This is not a retreat center. It’s a private, restful cabin—made available for short unstructured stays to help you rest, quietly be with the Lord, and reconnect with your spouse and/or your children.

We offer this space not because we have to, but because we get to. We believe in you, and more importantly—we believe that your rest matters to God.

There is no schedule and no expectations—just stillness, beauty, and quiet. We believe you need that kind of rest—and this space exists to offer it.

Our guests ask us all the time about the name GoldenVista. At first glance, it sounds like a simple blend of words, but it’s so much more. The name GoldenVista holds special meaning for us. First, “Golden” is my wife’s maiden name—a simple and lasting way to honor her and the strength of our marriage, which began in 1997. Her love, wisdom, and quiet strength is worth every effort.

Secondly, “Vista” is the Spanish word for “view.” We chose it not only because the mountain view behind the cabin is like a divine oil painting, but also to reflect my lifelong love for the Spanish language, people, and culture.

I studied Spanish extensively—earning a degree in Spanish at Samford University and attending school in Costa Rica and Madrid. Since then, I have traveled to nearly every Spanish-speaking country in the world (with just a few exceptions).

GoldenVista is more than just a name. Yes, it holds personal meaning for us—but we also hope the not-so-subtle double meaning in GoldenVista gives you reason to pause, wonder, and maybe even go for it yourself—just like we did in 2019. No regrets. We trust you’ll say the same.

Welcome to GoldenVistaCabin – a name, a place, and a story we’re honored to share with you.

GoldenVista: The Story Behind The Name

How is GoldenVista funded for Qualified Ministry Leaders?

GoldenVistaCabin is not supported by a large organization—it is made available through personal generosity, cooperative planning, and the grace of God. While there is a modest cost associated with each stay to help cover operating expenses, we never want that cost to be a barrier.

To make the stay free of charge to the Qualified Ministry Leader (QML), we ask for a Commitment Letter from the guest’s sending body—such as a church, Board of Deacons, Board of Directors of Christian nonprofits, or caring friends—confirming their role and covering the modest cost of the stay.

If the sending body is unable to contribute, the guest may cover the stay personally, or partial scholarships may be available. Every dollar given goes directly toward supporting a current or future ministry leader.

“When others help fund your time of rest, they are participating in your renewal. It’s a beautiful expression of the Body of Christ rallying around its own.”

What is a Qualified Ministry Leader?

GoldenVistaCabin is available to individuals who are actively serving in high-responsibility ministry roles. At this time, we are specifically offering stays to:

  • Senior Pastors or Teaching Pastors

  • Executive Directors of Christian nonprofit organizations

  • International Missionaries on furlough

Each guest must be currently serving in one of these positions and must submit a Commitment Letter completed by their church, sending organization, or board.

The cabin is intended for ministry leaders, spouses, and their children—to rest together, reconnect, and share in God’s goodness away from the demands of daily ministry life.

To access GoldenVista Cabin as a Qualified Ministry Leader (QML), we ask for a brief confirmation of your ministry role. It’s straightforward, and we’ve designed the process with pastors and sending organizations in mind.

Here’s what the Commitment Letter will ask you to do:

  • At the top, write your name and phone number.

  • Share the letter with your Board of Elders, Deacons, or sending body.

  • They will confirm your current ministry role and agree with GoldenVistaCabin’s Statement of Faith.

  • They will complete the brief form, sign it, and email it to: goldenvistacabin@gmail.com

That’s it. Once we receive the letter, we’ll be in touch with you to confirm arrangements.

Let’s Get Started. It’s Simple. No Strings. No Stress
